First off, let’s start this review with a little side note. As I begun to write this post I’m noticing we’re having two beauty reviews from Clarins in a row. It wasn’t intentional, but what can I tell you? Clarins is a good brand. (And apparently a popular one on my vanity!) Now, on to the review…
Clarins BB Skin Detox Fluid comes with 45ml (1.5 fl. oz.) of product in a tube format with the pump. Pump (as usual) is a good feature here, it doesn’t allow air or dirt penetrate the tube, so the last pump of product will remain with the same quality and texture as the first one. I’ll write here that I’m quite fond of the packaging and it definitely goes in to my favorites. It comes only in four shades (this is a „skin perfector“, not a foundation) which, I can only assume, adapt to your skin tone. Darkest shade seems way to light, but lightest shade isn’t light enough, so who knows? I’m using the one in color 00 fair though (the one I’d prefer to be little lighter). It also has an SPF 25, which is always nice, especially for daytime products.
As I was in a hunt for an everyday tint, Clarins BB Skin Detox Fluid seemed like a perfect product to try out. I personally don’t like full coverage, cakey foundation for daytime, so something like this is a great alternative for evening out your imperfections and making your skin to look like skin. The claim on their website is : „Complexion perfector. Hydrate, balance.“ I will tell you my friends, it does just that. It’s extremely comfortable, you feel it like a moisturizer, yet it evens out your complexion. This fluid will give you glow, but it won’t make you feel oily. (I’m taking a moment here to mention how good it smells!)
However, my first experience with application left me feeling like this is going to be another fail. You see, I got used to applying my foundations with a beauty blender. And, in theory, beauty blender is amazing for applying any kind of foundation, but be aware that Clarins BB Skin Detox Fluid is not your typical foundation. I find it works best when it’s heated between fingers and then blended into the skin. Use your hands, not any additional tools necessary here. Product has a price of £30 (40$ on Amazon). (*note: for some reason, this product isn’t available on Clarins’ US website)
Would I buy it again? Probably yes. It’s semi skincare, semi make-up and looks great on your skin. But the steep price of thirty pounds keeps me from an immediate „yes!“. However, I do wish a quality for my skin. So if in the meantime I don’t find same product, but much cheaper- I’m sticking with this one.
Until next time,
